Our services cater for both “greenfield” and “brownfield” projects:
On greenfield projects
We develop tolling and overload control solutions for roads in their final stages of completion by other contractors or funded by international development finance institutions where funding mechanisms for maintenance have not been developed; We offer a range of products making it possible to substitute underperforming existing toll plazas/border posts with operationally-efficient facilities and operations. Our services include the creation of a record of improved toll collections and increased operational efficiencies; this improves the financial position of all “Second Generation Road Funds” and changes perceptions from lending institutions for future large-scale project-financed transactions or concessional loan applications.
InstaToll Africa can mitigate the operating risk inherent to projects and for insulation from collection risks and lack of maintenance of the asset. With this in mind, we welcome any request for information or proposal from prospective Road Fund or Agencies, Infrastructure Equity Fund, Private Developer or Development Finance Institutions for a “smart partnership”.
Routine Road & Maintenance
INSTATOLL’S AFRICA EXPERIENCE
Routine Road Maintenance (RRM) is critical for sustaining the quality and safety of roads in line with the original design and minimising life-cycle as well as associated road user costs.
RRM comprises a range of small scale yet critical activities, such as roadside verge clearing and cutting back encroaching vegetation, cleaning of silted ditches and culverts and cleaning of all drainage structures, as well as clearing bridge drainage ports and scuppers, cleaning and repairing damage road signs, repairs of minor slopes failures, patching and pothole repair, and light grading/reshaping of unsealed surfaces.
We use these regular operations to identify periodic maintenance needs and to use labour-intensive methods, especially through employment from communities, local skills development and capacity-building programmes.
Our unique value proposition in RRM is based on our ability to:-
- Offer a single point of responsibility to Road Funds, Roads Agencies and Toll concessionaires
- Adopt a partnering approach with road agencies based on knowledge transfer and by analysing RRM needs against affordability and the formulation of RRM models and plans
- Coordinate and use local emerging contractors exclusively
- Build capacity in the local supply-chain
